Wedding Planning Sucks @$$

Well.  I'm fairly certain that I would rather drown in a sodium hypochlorite solution than plan a wedding.  But I don't have much of a choice in the matter, do I?  Ack.  So I suppose this week has been reasonably productive as far as wedding planning goes.  If you can count wedding planning as a productive pastime.  Deposit for the church? Done.  Deposit for the hotel?  Done.  Photog is booked.  Flowers are booked.  I haven't even contemplated homicidal behavior this week.  At all.  Which I think is quite impressive.  Considering...

In other news, Steve's sister has made it in one piece back to Christchurch.  She's spent the last couple of weeks hiking mountains, checking out hotsprings & throwing herself off 10m waterfalls.  And now she's stuck in town finishing up all her souvenir shopping.  Bwahahaha.  I won't feel sorry for her one bit, though, 'cause she has a 6-week holiday.  And I'm stuck at work.  Souvenir shopping is a wee bit painful, but that's what you get when you travel to the other side of the planet for over a month....

And I read another book this week.  Go figure.  The newest one is The Poisonwood Bible.  Very good.  It's about an American missionary family that travels to the Congo in the 50's.  Amazing story.  Not exactly lighthearted.  Between this one and the last one about communist China, I'm about ready to throw myself into some Stephanie Plum garbage or somesuch thing.

And they hired about 30 new people at work.  And didn't figure these people into the availability of Christmas leave.  So I may get 3 weeks off over Christmas.  Which would ROCK.

And that's about it.
